Blodgett Forest Research Station

UC Berkeley operates Blodgett Forest Research Station in Georgetown, California as part of Rauser College of Natural Resource's Berkeley Forests. This ~4,000 acre forest is in the Sierra Nevada mixed conifer ecosystem and has infrastructure for 35 overnight guests. The mission of the field station is to facilitate research that improves the understanding and management of California's forests and to steward a wide range of forest management activities.

Grouse Ridge Research Station

UC Berkeley operates Grouse Ridge Research Station as part of Rauser College of Natural Resource's Berkeley Forests. This ~1,500 acre forest is in the Sierra Nevada mixed conifer ecosystem in Nevada County. It does not have any facilities, but can coordinate experimental research including the manipulation of forest structure and composition.

Baker Forest

UC Berkeley operates Baker Forest and UC Forestry Camp as part of Rauser College of Natural Resource's Berkeley Forests. This site has a combination of university owned property (80 acres) as well as facilities on US Forest Service land operated with a special use permit. The facilities can host groups of up to 60 people. The mission of this site is primarily undergraduate education in forestry, and also facilitates ecological research throughout the region.

Flatwoods Research Station

UC Berkeley operates Flatwoods Research Station as part of Rauser College of Natural Resource's Berkeley Forests.This 3,000 acre station is in the mixed conifer forest in Shasta County. It is a new acquisition, and does not yet have any studies underway. The mission of the field station is to facilitate research that improves the understanding and management of California's forests and to steward a wide range of forest management activities.

Whitaker's Forest Research Station

UC Berkeley operates Whitaker's Forest Research Station as part of Rauser College of Natural Resource's Berkeley Forests.This ~300 acre station is within the Redwood Mountain grove of giant sequoias. It has facilities for small groups staying overnight. The mission of the field station is to facilitate research that improves the understanding and management of giant sequoia, utilizing combinations of mechanical and fire treatments.
